This Waldorf Astoria should be taken off your list. The facilities are very poor. Pool cushions are filthy, Ginger Restaurant closed, gym had no water or towels with very limited equipment. One elevator was broken the entire stay, leaving only one elevator for 17 floors. Leaking at the front entrance as well as the lobby.
It's prime location, great interior decor of rooms and public spaces, kindness and great customer orientation of its employees, and superb breakfast, make the Waldorf one of the top hotels in the city. The only complaint I have is that there was no hot water in the shower which is something totally unacceptable in a hotel of this category. I realized this almost by midnight the day I checked in and was very exhausted to pack my things again and move to another room, which was offered by the hotel but I decided to declined. This should be part of the check list of every room previous to making it available to any guest. Apart from that I was very satisfied with the hotel.
We stayed here for 3 nights in PC before flying north to Bocas Del Toro. Staff are very friendly and it’s very modern, beautifully decorated. Bed was luuuurvely- like melting into a cloud :) Best hotel breakfast we’ve had- a mix of local and continental style. Also the gym is excellent.
Not our first time to stay here nor will it be the last. From now on we plan on staying at Waldorf Astoria Panama every time we are in town. Stafff is very accommodating and friendly. Excellent breakfast and restaurant is perfect for a quiet lunch or dinner. Location is near other good restaurants and in walking distance to several great shops and Weis Gallery.
