Was craving for ramen, and this place seemed to have good reviews. However, ramen was disappointing. More like chop suey noodles with steak fajitas, carrots and peppers (??) than ramen. Taste was good, but this was definetly not ramen. They use tablets for the menu, but can't order from them, so don't see the purpose.
Tatakimarket is a Japanese, Thai and Peruvian restaurant and is located near the center of downtown Panama City. It is also located in a small strip mall about 4 miles northeast of Casco Viejo. In addition, it is located about 15 miles southwest of the Tocumen International Airport. Based on the restaurant website, this location appears to be part of a small chain as they list 3 other locations. I am not sure why they advertise 3 different types of food (Japanese, Thai and Peruvian) but it gives you lots of options on the menu. I ate lunch here with a few co-workers on a Thursday afternoon in late May and thought the food was only OK. I ordered some Tuna Sushi and some type of Peruvian dish. I do not speak Spanish so just pointed to a picture of a beef dish on the menu. I am not a Tuna expert but something did not look right with the Tuna Sushi. The color of the fish was not bright and it looked like a red mat (or faded) color. It tasted OK but just did not look fresh. The beef dish was OK but tasted kind of bland. Overall I liked all the choices on the menu but did not get too excited about the look and taste of my food. I will probably not go back on my next trip to Panama.
Overall the meal was average, but I rated "very good" because they offer take out, which on Sunday nights turns can be sth really valuable. The rolls were "ok", (nothing extraordinary) and the neptuno salad was also "ok", full of kani but almost no wakame. The "tiradito" was great.
