After we finally found Sante (it is south of Av Arosemena), it was just very strange. And the prices are outrageous considering the atmosphere, the service and the food-- which does not match the menu. The only thing good about it was a new Italian server (manager?) who tried very hard to be nice; and there are some trees and tall bamboo which partially block the street view. Bottom line: There are much better places in Panama City. Very sorry to say that Sante was a big disappointment.
If it was not for the guide pointing us toward this restaurant we might have just passed it. It is not big, but clean and efficient. It is located in Panama City old town (Casco Viejo). The food was very very good, for that reason this restaurant by itself is worthwhile visiting. Not the cheapest, but that is a combination of location and the food served, still a good deal/value for money. The owner of the restaurant was very helpful and very friendly. Much appreciated!
Came here for a late lunch on the Monday of Carnaval holiday. Most places were closed around Casco Viejo and we found this restaurant with a charming outdoor seating area close to the waterfront. The service was friendly and attentive. We ordered a squid ink risotto and a grilled pulpo. Both were delicious! Very well made. Would recommend it. The price was reasonable for the quality of the dish.
